We can also help with existing decks that need repairs, updates or modifications to make the space more functional and enjoyable.
POOL DECKING
A custom pool deck can make your pool area easier to access while creating more usable space for relaxing, entertaining and spending time with family and friends.
Whether you’re adding a deck around an above-ground pool, creating additional space alongside an existing pool or looking for a larger outdoor living area with room for seating and entertaining, we’ll design the deck around your pool, property and how you plan to use the space.
Both pressure-treated wood and composite decking options are available, along with custom stairs, handrails, skirting and other features to complete the space.

MATERIAL OPTIONS
Choosing the right decking material can affect everything from the appearance and maintenance of your deck to its overall cost and longevity. We offer both pressure-treated wood and composite decking options at different price points, allowing you to choose the material that best fits your priorities and budget.
We’ll help you compare the available options, including appearance, maintenance requirements and long-term performance, so you can make an informed choice for your project.
PRESSURE-TREATED WOOD
Pressure-treated wood remains a popular choice for homeowners who want the traditional look and feel of a real wood deck at a more budget-friendly price point than composite decking. When properly maintained, it can provide years of enjoyment and can be stained or sealed to complement your home and outdoor space.
Because pressure-treated lumber is a natural wood product, no two boards will look or perform exactly the same. Knots, grain variations and changes that occur as the lumber dries are normal characteristics of the material. We offer both standard and premium pressure-treated lumber options, although appearance and availability can vary based on the lumber currently available from suppliers.
Standard pressure treated wood
- Most economical wood decking option
- Traditional natural wood appearance
- More visible knots & variations between boards
- Greater potential for checking, splitting, twisting or warping as the lumber dries
- Requires routine sealing/staining & maintenance for long-term performance
Premium pressure treated wood
- Higher-grade pressure-treated lumber selected for improved appearance
- Typically fewer knots & imperfections than standard lumber
- May provide a cleaner, more consistent overall appearance
- Still a natural wood product & subject to checking, splitting, shrinking, twisting or warping
- Availability and appearance can vary based on current supplier inventory
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH PRESSURE-TREATED WOOD
Pressure-treated lumber is a natural wood product, so variations and changes in appearance are normal. Knots, grain variations, checking, splitting, shrinking, cupping, twisting and minor warping can occur as the lumber dries and is exposed to changing weather conditions.
While premium lumber is selected for an improved overall appearance when available, no grade of pressure-treated lumber will be completely free of these natural characteristics. Individual boards can vary considerably, even within the same grade.
If a more uniform appearance with less ongoing maintenance is a priority, composite decking may be a better option for your project.
COMPOSITE DECKING
Composite decking offers a lower-maintenance alternative to traditional wood while providing a more consistent appearance from board to board. Made from a blend of wood fibers and synthetic materials, composite decking is designed to resist many of the issues associated with natural wood, including rot, splintering and insect damage.
Composite decking does not require the routine staining or sealing associated with pressure-treated wood and is available in a wide range of colors, textures and finishes. We offer both standard and premium composite options, allowing you to balance appearance, features and budget when selecting the right decking for your project.
Standard composite decking
- Lower-maintenance alternative to pressure-treated wood
- More consistent color and appearance than natural lumber
- Available in a variety of colors and finishes
- No routine staining or sealing required
- More budget-friendly entry point into composite decking
Premium composite decking
- Enhanced wood-grain patterns and more natural-looking finishes
- Greater variety of colors and design options
- Upgraded appearance with additional color and texture variation
- Product features and warranties may vary by manufacturer
- Higher price point than standard composite decking
custom options
The details can make a big difference in both the appearance and functionality of your deck. From handrail styles and under-deck skirting to custom stair designs, we offer a variety of options to help your new deck complement your home and work better for the way you use your outdoor space.
We’ll help you explore the available options and determine which features make the most sense for your deck design, property and budget.
handrail
Handrails can add both safety and style to your deck. From traditional wood railings and wire panels to aluminum and composite systems, there are a variety of options available to complement your deck and home.
Railing requirements may also vary depending on the height and design of your deck.

under-Deck skirting
Under-deck skirting creates a more finished appearance while helping conceal the open space beneath your deck. Options range from traditional lattice, which maintains airflow, to full-board skirting for a more enclosed appearance.
Skirting can also help limit access beneath the deck for pets and unwanted critters.

stair design
Deck stairs don’t have to be purely functional. Stair placement, width and design can have a big impact on the appearance of your deck and how easily it connects to your yard, patio or other outdoor space.
From traditional straight stairs to wider steps, platforms and more custom configurations, we’ll design the stairs around your deck and property.
